K. Gorny
One of a series of paintings depicting the South Bank of the Thames between Putney Bridge and Barnes Bridge.
My eye was caught by the colour accent created by the light pouring through the red bucket on the foreshore. The sultry light of early evening at this time of year can produce a uniquely languid mood. The subject required a warmer palette than I tend to work with, the road surface shifting to earthy hues away from the more usual blue blacks.
