The movement of light across the buildings presented an attractive challenge. Painting too loosely would have diminished the imposing weight of the Victorian architecture, finding equilibrium between these competing forces – the ephemeral and the steadfast - produced a pleasing tension. This is a theme referenced in the animated foreground figures whose direction of gaze establishes a relationship with the Venus Statue.
